Keywords: , , ,

Micromachined cantilever-based surface patterning tools were optimized to allow submicron diameter printing of fluids on various surfaces. A detailed fluidics model was used to analyze critical variables and determine the best method for optimization. Tools were fabricated and tested on a BioForce Nanosciences Nanoenabler bench-top molecular printer. The new tool design improved spot reproducibility, yield and allowed for the deposition of submicron diameter spots which had not previously been demonstrated.
