A sonochemical technique has been established to coat variations of POSS nanoparticles on expandable microspheres. Thermal analyses results indicate that there is an increase in thermal stability of nanophased foam as compared to the neat foam. The glass transition temperature is also increased by 12oC to 15oC in foam systems. Mechanical tests indicate that there is an increase in compressive strength modulus in the Epoxy Cyclohexyl POSS and as compared to neat system.
