Keywords: , , , ,

Carbon and boron atoms form extensive series of compounds with hydrogen, hydrocarbons and boron hydrides. This contribution deals with the selected thiol derivatives from both groups of compounds. The mutual comparison of these thiol species and the properties of the modified gold films will be discussed. In particular, the aspects of bonding, electrochemistry, thermal, oxidation, and radiation stabilities will be highlighted. The experimental data were acquired using several techniques and methods, especially with cyclic voltammetry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
