This paper presents the development of a precorrected-FFT 3D BEM solver for linear elastic problems. This can be used with existing fast BEM solvers for electrostatics and Stokes flow to efficiently solve coupled problems, as commonly encountered in MEMS and NEMS design. Using BEM solvers for all analysis domains allows a single mesh to be usedwhich is referred to as mesh-consistency. This avoids some of the difficulties, such as interpolation of solutions between solvers, invlved in performing coupled analyses with hybrid FEM/BEM techniques. Results from a number of test cases illustrate the performance and accuracy of the linear elastic BEM solver. For many problems the precorrected-FFT technique can improve performance (memory and CPU usage) from Order(N*N) to Order(N log N). Finally, a plate subject to electrostatic loading demonstrates a coupled electrostatic-structural analysis with mesh-consistent BEM solvers.
