Defense Energy Summit Announces Keynote Program and Finalists of the 2014 Defense Energy and Smart Cities Challenges

Military, corporate, and academic leaders convene in Austin next month to address the pressing energy needs of the military and industry.

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 2, 2014 The annual Defense Energy Summit (DES) will take place November 11-13, 2014 at the AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center, Austin, TX (www.defenseenergy.com).  The Defense Energy Summit brings together the Nation's energy, business and defense leadership as they accelerate the development and deployment of new energy and infrastructure solutions for the U.S. Military.

This year, the Defense Energy Summit is co-located with the Fall National SBIR/STTR Conference. Meet 1-1 with government SBIR/STTR program managers and industry leaders to learn how to access SBIR/STTR, build partnerships, and create successful commercialization strategies. The SBIR/STTR Program represents more than $2.5 Billion in non-diluted funding for small businesses.

The joint 5th annual Defense Energy Challenge (DETC), held jointly with the Smart Cities Challenge, match top energy and infrastructure solutions with military and utility testing and procurement opportunities. DETC is run in collaboration from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Army National Guard and installation and operational programs worldwide. Finalists from both programs present to attendees and a military-industry review panel and will also showcase their technologies onsite.
