NSI Organizers and Co-Chairs include: NNCO, OSTP, Air Force, NASA, NCI, NIBIB, NIFA, NIOSH, NIST, NRO, NSF, USFS

The federal agencies participating in the National Nanotechnology Initiative have identified focused areas of national importance that may be more rapidly advanced through enhanced coordination and collaboration of agency research and development efforts.  These Nanotechnology Signature Initiatives (NSIs) provide a spotlight on critical areas and define the shared vision of the participating agencies for accelerating the advancement of nanoscale science and technology to address needs and exploit opportunities from research through commercialization.

Taking place during Nanotech 2013 May 12-16, the NNI Nanotechnology Signature Initiatives (NSI) program includes:
• Nanotechnology for Solar Energy Collection and Conversion
• Sustainable Nanomanufacturing – Creating the Industries of the Future
• Nanoelectronics for 2020 and Beyond
• Nanotechnology for Sensors and Sensors for Nanotechnology: Improving and Protecting Health, Safety, and the Environment
• Nanotechnology Knowledge Infrastructure (NKI): Enabling National Leadership in Sustainable Design

Entering its 15th year, Nanotech, part of TechConnect World, is the largest annual innovation conference and showcase for innovators, technology business developers, and investors.  Co-located with the National Innovation Summit and Showcase (NISS) and National SBIR Conference, all events will take place May 12-16, 2013, just outside Washington, D.C. at the Gaylord National Convention Center, National Harbor, MD.

“We are honored to host the NNI Nanotechnology Signature Initiatives Symposia,” notes Dr. Matthew Laudon, CEO of TechConnect. “This partnership aligns with our overall conference mission, which is to work with leading federal agencies, companies, and universities to accelerate the commercialization of American innovation.”

The co-located events will bring more than 4,000 attendees from 70+ countries to the nation’s capital.  It is a not-to-miss event for entrepreneurs, universities, government agencies, businesses, and investors.
Registration for all events opens this month.
