Nitin Parekh: Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), Palo Alto, California.

With two decades of experience spanning the cleantech, semiconductor, MEMS, photonics and biomedical industries, Nitin Parekh brings a rich, unique perspective to his role directing business development for the hardware research laboratories at PARC.

He has led the acquisition of public and private multi-million-dollar companies, raised VC funding for startups, created and run business units within large corporations, and his background in executive management, marketing, product management, product development, and operations has been multinational, with organizations in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Before joining PARC in 2006, Mr. Parekh served as Vice President of Business Development, Product Management & Marketing at NanoNexus, Inc. Previously, he was General Manager of Novellus Systems’ Optical Products Business Unit and also led the Strategic Marketing and Business Development organization. He held prior management positions at Silicon Systems, Philips Netherlands, and Texas Instruments, and has chaired numerous international industry committees. Today, Mr. Parekh is the Chairman of the IEEE SFBA Nanotechnology council and serves on the board of the non-profit Solutions Benefiting Life, which designs micro-enterprises and filters for safe drinking water in developing countries.

Mr. Parekh launched his career as a researcher at Xerox PARC and has authored more than 20 publications and patents. He holds an MBA from UCLA and an M.S. degree from Stanford University.
