This research is done in support of the development of modular 5 kW co-generation power LENR cells by LENUCO LLC. These modular units are stacked to provide powers up to 50 kW. A prototype unit has been built, but the work described here is intended to improve future operation. The 30 cc pressure chamber containing nanoparticles is filled with H2 gas at pressures up to 100 psi. Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (LENRs) are initiated by an initial temperature rise associated with gas absorption in the nanoparticles which is exothermic. LENR heating then increase the temperature to about 300 °K, Periodic pressure variations are employed to obtain controlled runs over long periods. The reactions occur in clusters of 100-1000 hydrogen atoms formed in voids near the nanoparticle surface. Method to increase the number of clusters per unit volume to obtain higher power densities are discussed.
