Investigating the role of the FOXA1 protein in cancer with Scanning Probe Microscopy

,

Keywords: , ,

The FOXA1 protein has generated considerable interest for its use as a biomarker in breast cancer. In this project, the binding kinetics of FOXA1 with the BRCA1 and FOXC2 are investigated using Scanning Probe Microscopy. The DNA-protein complexes can be located with high resolution and the affinity of binding can be estimated. The project will provide important information for the role of FOXA1 in gene regulation and its potential use in the prognosis and treatment of cancer.
