Semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) have been successfully incorporated into nanostructured light emitting devices (NLEDs) and now promise applications in electronic, medical and telecommunication industries. To better understand and further develop NLEDs it is important to consider the interactions and influences of their surrounding materials and environment. Here, we report the effects of temperature, irradiation and spatial arrangement of the quantum dots (QDs) on their photoluminescent (PL) and absorption properties.
