Our research aims at developing rigorous assessment and quantification tools of mixing in microchannels. The tools are based on Shannon and Renyi entropies and on multifractal dimensions. We determine the multifractal dimensions for the published images of mixing of a fluorescent and a non-fluorescent fluid in a microchannel. Our direct analysis of the experimental data from the staggered herringbone mixer mixer demonstrates the adaptability of the entropy and multifractal dimensions to both simulations and experiments. | | View paper | | ISBN: | 0-9767985-7-3 |
