Chapter 3: Carbon Nano Structures

Near-Field Electrodynamics of Atomically Doped Carbon Nanotubes

Authors:I.V. Bondarev and Ph. Lambin
Affilation:The Belarusian State University, Minsk, BY
Pages:197 - 200
Keywords:carbon nanotubes, strong atom-field coupling, atomic spontaneous decay, van der Waals interactions
Abstract:We have developed a quantum theory of near-field electrodynamical properties of carbon nanotubes. The theory was used to investigate spontaneous decay dynamics and van der Waals attraction of a single two-level atom close to a single-wall nanotube surface.
