Abstract:Glucose oxidase (GOx), was encapsulated in polyacrylamide microgels with the aim to preserve the enzymatic activity and to fabricate a biosensor with these microgel particles (1-3). The biosensor presents great stability, but when it is used to analyzed clinical samples, interferences due to ascorbic and uric acid were observed. To remove this interferences, microgels with 50% of acrylic acid (which provides negative charge) were synthesized. The addition of small amount of the conducting polymer polypyrrol to the microgels reduces the response time of the biosensor from 40s to 14s. In this communication we present a study of the performanc of the microgels as glucose sensors
