TechConnect Innovation Tracking: New Sky Energy, a TechConnect Accelerator participant-2010, 2011

The Artemis Project™ selection of the Top 50 Water companies were selected by a review jury that included executives from IBM, Intel, McKinsey, and Archer Daniels Midland.  More than 120 water companies were evaluated by the jury. In the release, “The Artemis Top 50 is the water industry’s benchmark for innovation that will matter. It identifies the new solutions that will meet the world’s water challenges,” stated Laura Shenkar, Chair of the Artemis Top 50™.

New Sky Energy’s proprietary process is a two step chemical pathway. First, New Sky uses industrial wastewater or salt as a feedstock to create hydrogen, oxygen, acid, and base (lye). The company then converts its base to market-ready carbonates by trapping CO2 from air or flue gas. The end products are carbon negative. New Sky seeks to partner with large industrial companies.
