Systems Biology Enabled Research on the Role of Microbial Communities in Carbon Cycling

By: Jennifer Rocha

Department of Energy Deadline: April 19, 2013

The Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) of the Office of Science (SC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) hereby announces its interest in receiving applications for research that supports the Genomic Science research program ( In this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), applications are solicited for: i.) systems biology studies on regulatory and metabolic networks of microbes, microbial consortia, and microbe-plant interactions involved in biogeochemical cycling of carbon, ii.) development of genomics approaches to investigate microbial community functional processes involved in carbon cycling in terrestrial ecosystems, and iii.) development of genomics enabled methods and technologies for imaging and analysis of microbially-mediated carbon cycling processes in terrestrial ecosystems.
