University of Central Florida NanoScience Technology Center
The University of Central Florida began its nanoinitiative in 2001 and created its NanoScience Technology Center in 2005 with a mandate to create a multidisciplinary center of excellence to solve problems of regional, state, and national significance. NSTC's mission is to provide cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, outstanding academic opportunities and ground-breaking science while establishing and nurturing industry and research organization partnerships that facilitate rapid technology transfer. NSTC offers academic and research specialties in green energy, functional nanomaterials, nanoelectronics and nanophysics, integrated device development, in vitro test systems, bio-imaging, and quantum communication. NSTC has gained worldwide recognition through its research, undergraduate and graduate educational programs, and commercialization.
