Manipulating Nanostructures with Chemically Patterned Surface

Abstract:

Directed assembly provides a promising bottom-up approach to integrating nanoscale devices and sensors. In this talk we explore how molecular templates created by dip-pen nanolithography (DPN) and other lithographic means can be used to address some fundamental questions arising from directed assembly of nanoscale building blocks including carbon nanotubes and nanoparticles. The molecular driving forces, solvent kinetics and influence of building blocks will be analyzed.
